India's much-awaited Test series against Australia begins on February 9, with the first Test scheduled in Nagpur.

With two robust red-ball units set to collide, fans and experts expect the series to be a nerve-wrecker.

Meanwhile, team India head coach Rahul Dravid has spoken about his team's preparations ahead of the series opener.

In a video posted by the BCCI, Dravid lavished praise on the practice pitches and explained how crucial the net sessions are, especially for the players who are switching formats.

"It's nice to see the Test team get together. We had plenty of white-ball cricket over the last month or so. For some of the boys transitioning from white ball to red ball, it's nice to just have an extended period in the nets. The surfaces have been excellent as well."

The legendary batter also revealed the Indian players are toiling hard to fine-tune their slip-catching, which he thinks will be really important throughout the series.

"We think the close-in catching will be a crucial part of the series. So, there's a lot of emphasis on close-in catching, slip fielding and things like that when you are on the road and don't get time to work on those things."

After the first Test in Nagpur, the caravan shifts to Delhi, Dharamsala and Ahmedabad for the remaining matches.
