According to the latest reports, West Indies T20 greats Sunil Narine and Andre Russell will reunite with their Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) teammates for the remainder of IPL 2025. It's worth mentioning that the remaining matches will be conducted between May 17 and June 3, with the final likely to be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
KKR's Overseas Players To Arrive Soon; De Kock Doubtful
As reported by ESPNCricinfo, KKR's premier overseas players- Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Rovman Powell, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Spencer Johnson, Moeen Ali and Anrich Nortje - will likely join the squad by Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
Narine, Rovman Powell and Russell, currently with KKR's bowling coach Dwayne Bravo in Dubai, are expected to arrive soon for their remaining IPL 2025 games. On the other hand, Gurbaz will travel from Kabul to India, while Anrich Nortje will return to the South Asian country from Maldives.
Moeen Ali and Spencer Johnson, who flew back to their respective countries, are expected to reunite with their KKR teammates. However, there's no clarity if swashbuckling keeper-batter Quinton de Kock will travel back to India for the remainder of the tournament.
For the unversed, De Kock was dropped midway during the tournament owing to poor form, with Gurbaz replacing him in KKR's playing XI.
So, even if De Kock withdraws from the remaining IPL 2025 matches, it won't be a significant setback for the Knight Riders, who are quite alive in the playoffs race.
The aforementioned players will arrive at Bengaluru for KKR's upcoming match against RCB. Led by Ajinkya Rahane, the defending champions will take on the Royal Challengers at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on May 17.
