The IPL 2025 is all set to resume on May 17 after the suspension of one week and in the new schedule, the final will be played on June 3. However, the venues for the final and other playoff matches have not been decided yet, and according to a Cricbuzz report, Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is the front-runner to host the finale.
BCCI Unsure On Final Of IPL 2025
The Qualifier 2 is also likely to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium if everything goes well while Mumbai might host the the other playoff matches. However, BCCI is still not completely committed to these venues as they are concerns of rain in some of these venues.
As of now, the weather looks clear in Ahmedabad, but if the weather forecast goes wrong, things could get tricky, and thus, BCCI is following a cautious approach. There are also chances of rain in Mumbai around that period and according to Cricbuzz, BCCI is closely monitoring monsoon timing in the country.
Overall, the likely venues for the playoffs would be between the selected six venues, and the final decision is expected in the upcoming days. Also, this is the first time, that IPL final will be played in June since the famous final between Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders.
The first game after the resumption will be played between RCB and KKR at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium and the home team will have the chance to qualify for the playoffs. Apart from RCB, KKR too have an outside chance while the likes of Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants are also in the race.
