In a significant development, swashbuckling batter Jos Buttler and fast bowler Gerald Coetzee will rejoin the Gujarat Titans (GT) squad for the IPL 2025 on May 14. Both players had left the GT camp in India following the military conflict between India and Pakistan.

Buttler, Coetzee To Join GT On Wednesday

According to ESPNCricinfo, Buttler and Coetzee will reunite with their GT teammates on May 14 ahead of the remainder part of the IPL 2025. As per the revised schedule released on Monday, the IPL 2025 will resume on Saturday, May 17.

It's worth mentioning that GT's other overseas players Rashid Khan, Sherfane Rutherford, Kagiso Rabada and Karim Janat hadn't departed, deciding to stay in India amid the India-Pakistan border tensions.

However, Buttler and Rutherford's participation for the entire tournament could be jeopardised due to the upcoming England vs West Indies white-ball series. While Rutherford has been included in the Windies squad, England have yet to pick their team for the high-voltage series.

Having said that, Buttler is certain to feature in the series which is set to commence on May 29. GT have three group-stage matches left, as they will face Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings on May 18, 22 and 25, respectively.

As England will take on West Indies in a three-match ODI series starting on May 29, Buttler and Rutherford might opt out of the playoffs, provided GT qualify for the next round in the competition.

The BCCI recently revealed an updated schedule for the IPL 2025, which witnessed an abrupt suspension amid the India-Pakistan tussle along the LOC. Six venues- Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mumbai, Jaipur and Delhi have been chosen as the hosts for the remaining games.
