Shubman Gill made his debut in 2018 after Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bought him during the auction process. He spent four seasons in Kolkata before getting released in the 2022 IPL mega auction. 

Gujarat Titans picked him up through the draft system and never looked back since then. He scored a mammoth 890 runsin the IPL 2023 season, winning the Orange Cap for the season. 

Moreover, in IPL 2024, Gill was appointed as the captain of the Gujarat Titans. Hardik Pandya had left the team to rejoin Mumbai Indians, and Gill was accordingly announced as his long-term successor. In the IPL 2025, Gill led Titans to the playoffs with an astonishing performance through out the season.

Shubman Gill started his IPL journey with KKR in 2018, when they bought him for ₹1.8 crore. He played for the franchise for four years. In IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans drafted him for ₹8 crore. In 2024, GT decided to appoint him as the captain after Hardik Pandya joined MI. Ahead of the IPL 2025, Gujarat Titans retained Shubman Gill for ₹16.5 crore.

In the IPL 2025, Gill showcased his prowess and made 650 runs in 15 matches at a strike-rate of 155.87 and an average of 50.00. The star batter also made six half-centuries with the highest score of 93*.

Ahead of IPL 2025, Gujarat Titans retained Shubman Gill for massive ₹16.5 crore. It is important to note that this contract will last for a three year cycle, until 2027. Gill also continued with his captaincy and will also likely led the side from 2025-2027.

Gill started his IPL journey with KKR in 2018. The Kolkata-based franchise attained his services for  1.80 crore rupees. He had registered at the base price of 20 lakh rupees.
