'On challenging wicket, it is important to adapt'- Suryakumar Yadav

India meandered to a scratchy win in the second T20 International (T20I) against New Zealand last evening and equalled the three-match series 1-1. 

Chasing 100 to win, Surya Kumar Yadav displayed an inning unlike him, which saw the explosive batter display restraint and control. 

Yadav scored 26 off 31, which included just one boundary. In alliance with skipper Hardik Pandya, SKY took India past the victory line, adding 31 runs for the fifth wicket.

Awarded 'Man of the Match', Suryakumar spoke about the importance of adapting to such tricky conditions in the post-match presentation.

Here's what Yadav said

 "It was a challenging wicket. We didn't think it's turn this way in the second innings but it's important to adapt. We just needed one hit in that over and it was very important to calm our nerves. Before we got the winning runs, he (Hardik) came and told me 'you are going to finish on this ball' and that gave me a lot of confidence."

The third and final T20I will be played in Ahmedabad on February 1.
