In the wake of the handshake incident, Sourav Ganguly has unfollowed Virat Kohli on Instagram. Ganguly has done a Kohli, who was the first one to remove the former from his following list on Instagram.

For the unversed, the duo was involved in an awkward handshake moment after the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC).

As RCB won that encounter by 23 runs, both the team's players and support staff proceeded to shake hands.

When it was the turn of Kohli and Ganguly to do the same, the RCB opener engaged in a brief talk with DC's head coach Ricky Ponting. By then, Ganguly had ignored Kohli, who turned his head to look back at the Capitals' Director of Cricket.

The heated history between the two dates back to the days when Ganguly was the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president and Kohli was still the national captain. A miscommunication between them during Kohli's captaincy saga created a rift that did not remain hidden from anyone.

Meanwhile, Kohli is playing for RCB, who are up against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 24th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. While DC have lost five matches on the bounce and are yet to record its first win in the season.
