New Zealand set a small target of 56, chased it down comfortably with Devon Conway unbeaten on 28 and Kane Williamson contributing 16*. West Indies’ batters struggled in both innings, with Shai Hope top-scoring with 47 in the first innings, leaving New Zealand 1-0 up in the three-match series.
RCB to continue playing in Chinnaswamy
The Karnataka government has finally allowed the Chinnaswamy Stadium to host IPL and international games again, bringing huge relief to RCB and their fans. The venue had been banned after the tragic June 4 stampede during RCB’s IPL victory celebration, which killed 11 people.
Now, matches can resume only if the KCA strictly follows the safety measures recommended by the Justice John Michael Cunha Commission, including improved entry/exit points and better crowd management. Salil Arora slams a century ahead of IPL auction
Nitish Reddy picks a hat-trick in SMAT
In the SMAT 2025 Super League game, Nitish Reddy produced a sensational spell, claiming his maiden T20 hat-trick to rock Madhya Pradesh’s top order. Defending just 113, the Andhra all-rounder removed Harsh Gawali, Harpreet Singh and MP captain Rajat Patidar in successive deliveries, putting his team firmly in the contest.
Reddy also contributed 25 off 27 with the bat. However, his efforts went in vain as Rishabh Chouhan and Rahul Batham’s 73-run stand guided MP to a four-wicket win.
JioStar-ICC media deal to stay
The ICC and JioStar have officially confirmed that their $3 billion, four-year media rights deal remains fully intact, ending speculation about a possible exit. Reports had suggested JioStar might withdraw due to financial losses from previous ICC events, but both parties denied this.
The deal, covering 2024–27, includes live broadcast and streaming of major ICC tournaments in India. This also means that the T20 World Cup 2026 will be telecast on JioStar.
