The England cricket team has been embroiled in a fresh controversy after sustaining two crushing defeats to Australia in Perth and Brisbane to go 0-2 down in the five-match Ashes 2025-26 Test series. Ahead of the third Test at the Adelaide Oval, an England security guard was spotted shoving an Australian cameraman as the players were walking through the terminal at the Brisbane airport.
As per one of the witnesses, the security was “quite aggressive” towards the Channel 7 cameraman as he tried to record the England players going down the airport escalator.
England’s Ashes tour hits a new low after airport shuffle
As per a CODE Sports report, England’s Ashes tour hit a new low as the players were travelling from Brisbane to Adelaide for the upcoming third Test of the series. At a time when the players were walking through the airport terminal for a flight to South Australia, England’s security member took issue with a Channel 7 cameraman, who was merely filming the squad walking down the airport escalator.
The security guard was spotted extending his left arm in a bid to shove the cameraman. As per a witness, “things looked quite heated” in the middle as the visiting group walked past Australia’s media personnel at Brisbane airport.
The incident occurred at a time when the Englishmen find themselves trailing 0-2 in the 2025-26 Ashes series. Another defeat in Adelaide will allow Australia to retain the Ashes, and keep England devoid of the urn for over a decade.
The series also constitutes a part of the ongoing 2025-27 WTC cycle, where England is currently placed at number seven on the nine-team standings. The third Test of the 2025-26 Ashes series will be played between December 17 and December 21 next week.
