The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi has indicated that an agreement with Mickey Arthur to coach Pakistan's national side is almost done. Sethi, ever since his arrival at the PCB in December for his second stint as chairman, has been in talks with Arthur, who earlier coach the Men in Green between 2016-2019 after being sacked following a regime change,

Speaking during a PCB function, as reported by thenews, Sethi said that Arthur's signing could be done in the next 10-15 days. Several former players have been opposed to the idea of a foreign coach.

Former Pakistan cricketers Misbah ul Haq and Saqlain Mushtaq have both coached Pakistan since Arthur's departure, in their respective terms.

Here's what Sethi said

"I think the project has almost been completed. Today I will discuss with Haroon and we will also talk to Mickey Arthur in one or two days. Eighty to 90 percent agreement has been made.

When it is finalised I will invite him here so that he could see all contracts and exactly what will be his responsibilities and how the things will be done and we will wrap up the process in ten to 15 days,”

Arthur is currently working at Derbyshire County Cricket Club as Head of Cricket. The 54-year-old has coached South Africa, Australia, and Sri Lanka national sides as well.
