Day 2 of the ongoing first Test between Zimbabwe and West Indies witnessed tons posted by Kraigg Brathwaite and Tagenarine Chanderpaul.

However, much of the chatter after stumps was focused around Tagenarine, who scored 101* off 291.

Tagenarine, son of ICC Hall of Famer and West Indies legend Shivnarine Chanderpaul, received high praise from Brathwaite.

Speaking to the broadcasters, the skipper also lauded Zimbabwe's bowling efforts.

Here's what Brathwaite said

"I think Zimbabwe bowled extremely well. I don't think they made it easy at all. But Credits to Tagenarine, he was fantastic. I see him progressing to be a top opener, he's world-class. Glad we got some huge partnerships and we just have to continue."

Interestingly, the father-son duo became the 10th pair to register Test hundreds.

Tagenarine slammed his maiden Test ton in just his fifth innings, while Shivnarine took almost eight years and 52 innings to reach the milestone.

In the context of the match, the 30-year-old said that West Indies would look to accelerate on Day 3, having batted somewhat cautiously on the second day.

Day 1 of the Bulawayo Test only saw the morning session play out after the visitors won the toss and elected to bat.
