To the delight of cricket fans across the globe, the ICC Women's T20 World Cup will commence on February 10. With ten top-tier teams set to battle it out for the decorated trophy, the tournament is expected to give thrills and chills to the spectators.

Meanwhile, England Women's team captain Heather Knight has backed her troops to emerge triumphant this time, something which they have failed to execute since winning the ODI World Cup in 2017.

In her exclusive column for the ICC, Knight also lavished praise on head coach Jon Lewis, who, according to her, has been pivotal for the team's success in white-ball cricket.

"We have come close on a few occasions since 2017 and it would be really special to go one step further this time around. He (Lewis) has brought additional clarity about how we want to play our cricket. We want to be aggressive and choose the positive option when the game is in the balance."

The stylish batter also explained how the injury to key players has served as a boon for the English women, empowering them with some fascinating emerging talents, who will be significant in their World Cup campaign.

"Last summer we had a few players out, including myself. While that was tough from a performance point of view, it was quite valuable in terms of exposing the young players and giving them the opportunity to showcase their skill. That’s led to a group of younger players coming to the fore, which is an exciting sign for our future."

England Women are placed in Group 2 alongside India, Pakistan, Ireland and West Indies. They begin their T20 World Cup campaign against West Indies in Paarl on February 11.
