Virat Kohli brought down curtains to his 123-match Test career after days of speculation on May 12. India’s most successful Test captain by a landslide, the legendary batter confirmed the same when the IPL 2025 season was put to a halt by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) citing security concerns.
While IPL 2025 is now set to resume from May 17 onwards, RCB fans are now planning to tribute Virat Kohli by wearing Test whites during their upcoming match against defending champions KKR in Bengaluru.

According to recent social media posts circulating around RCB fan pages, several fans are planning to wear India’s Test jersey to commemorate Virat Kohli’s red-ball career in the upcoming match against KKR. Incidentally, the match between RCB and KKR will be hosted by the former’s home base, the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, May 17.

Virat Kohli played 123 Tests in his career and aggregated 9,230 runs at an average of 46.85. Having made his debut back in 2011 during India’s tour of West Indies, the modern-day batting behemoth played the final Test of his career during the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia.
A major form slump and a sharp decline in Kohli’s average in the past couple of years possibly might have prompted him to take a step away from red-ball cricket. Nonetheless, the 36-year-old will continue to play ODIs for Team India, and is even reportedly aiming to feature in the 2027 Men’s ODI World Cup in South Africa.
As of now, Virat Kohli is plying his trade for the RCB franchise in IPL 2025 season. In 11 matches of the season so far, the cricketer has already tallied over 500 runs at an astonishing average of 63.12.
