Feedback hasn't been too great, to be honest: Lance Morris on bowling fast in India

Australia heads into the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 with a mix of experience and a young fast-bowling attack. Lane Morris, handed the 'Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year Award' by Cricket Australia, will be on his first overseas tour of India in an attack comprising Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Scott Boland, and Mitchell Starc.

Speaking about the tour, Morris, known as 'Wild Thing' on the domestic circuit, said that it will be a challenging trip, knowing the feedback of bowling fast in India has not been great.

Morris nearly missed making his Test debut against South Africa in Sydney earlier this month, where Boland was preferred.

Speaking to SEN Radio, the 24-year-old stated that he isn't expecting much and will look to soak in the experience.

Here's what Morris said

"The feedback (of bowling pace in India) hasn't been too great, to be honest. There's not a whole lot to look forward to; I'm not going to see the ball zipping through to the keeper and him taking it (in the gloves) fingers up. It sounds like it's going to be a bit of a challenge, but it'll be exciting nonetheless,"

"I don't want to put too many expectations on myself. I just want to use this as a learning experience, I've never toured with cricket before so this will be my first overseas experience. It's going to be a huge learning opportunity for me."

The Western Australian bowler could play in the first Test at Nagpur on February 9 with Starc's unavailability confirmed.
