The Legends Pro T20 League has announced the inclusion of a new set of players, including stars like Chris Gayle, Jacques Kallis, Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, and Stuart Binny. The league is steadily announcing the return of the former stars on the pitch.

The West Indies legend Gayle said that he has some special memories with the players in the tournament. He added that the Legends Pro League is allowing them to relive the competitiveness and the respect for each other.

"Some of my best cricket memories involve the guys who will be playing for the league. I've played against Kallis when getting past him felt impossible, talked batting rhythm with Uthappa, and taken more Rayudu banter than I can count. And seeing names like Dhawan or Watson pop up again adds to that feeling. Coming back together brings back the jokes, the competitiveness, the respect. The Legends Pro T20 League is giving us that chance," he said.

Jacques Kallis wants to feel like a player again

Considered one of the greatest all-rounders of the game, Jacques Kallis added that he missed being on the field. He said that he was looking forward to “feeling like a player once more.”

“When you've been away from the game for a while, you realise how much you miss the feel of the bat in your hands. I'm genuinely excited to pick it up again that simple rhythm of hitting balls, finding timing, feeling like a player once more. And seeing Michael Clarke step in as league commissioner adds a fresh energy. He's always had a sharp cricketing mind, and his new role brings real professionalism and vision to the whole setup. It just makes you look forward even more to getting back out there and enjoying the game with familiar faces,” he said.

The inaugural edition of the Legends Pro T20 League is scheduled between the 26th of January and the 4th of February, with six teams participating in the tournament. 1919 Sportz Stadium in Verna, Goa, will host all the matches.

As many as 90 players are set to take part in this competition, including Shikhar Dhawan, Harbhajan Singh, Dinesh Karthik, Shane Watson, Dale Steyn, Shaun Marsh, Amit Mishra, Vinay Kumar, and Monty Panesar.
