Vaibhav Suryavanshi's journey from being a teenage prodigy from a small town, Samastipur, Bihar, to becoming one of the biggest names in the Indian cricket has been immaculate. His fandom is not limited to the domestic circuit; wherever the 14-year-old plays, he leaves a mark.

Coming to the limelight with his first-ball six in his IPL debut, Suryavanshi has never looked back since. On 19 April 2025, the Rajasthan Royals' batter scripted history, becoming the youngest player to feature in the cash-studded league.

How was Vaibhav Suryavanshi's IPL debut in 2025?

In the IPL 2025 mega auction, Rajasthan Royals acquired the services of Bihar's Suryavanshi for 1.1 crores at the auction. Vaibhav registered for the auction at a base price of 30 lakhs and found interest from two teams.

It is worth noting that both Rajasthan and Delhi Capitals were in contention to secure the services of the 14-year-old, but RR won the battle.

In his maiden IPL season, Vaibhav Suryavanshi played seven games, accumulating 252 runs at a strike rate of 206.56 and a decent average of 36. Not only that, his swashbuckling century broke several records, including the youngest player to score an IPL century (14 years, 32 days) and the fastest century by an Indian (35 balls) in the tournament's history.

What will be Vaibhav Suryavanshi's IPL price in 2026?

Rajasthan Royals retained 13 players in total; courtesy of an experienced breakout season in 2025, the prodigious opener was one of them. Thus, RR will pay Vaibhav Suryavanshi the same amount of money he was bought for in the previous edition - 1.1 crores (INR).

Talking about Suryavanshi's recent form, the 14-year-old Suryavanshi scored a record-breaking 171 off just 95 balls, shattering the mark for the highest score by an Indian in the U19 Asia Cup. At the Rising Stars Asia Cup earlier this year, Suryavanshi scored 144 off 42 balls for India A against UAE, smashing 11 fours and 15 sixes.

Hence, Rajasthan has got itself a deal by buying the wide-eyed batter at a price slightly more than 1 Crore.
