In what turned out to be an enthralling nail-biting low-scoring encounter between the two sides India and New Zealand, the match was eventually won by the home side in the final over. The game saw balls turning and gripping making it tough for the batters to even make a contact at times.

There was some outstanding display of bowling from both sides, however, resilient batting from India's Suryakumar Yadav made sure that they level the series with one game to go.

Meanwhile, the match saw a record broken as this was the very first time that no six were hit during a game that took place in India. Overall, 14 boundaries were conceded in the match with Men in Blue hitting eight and BlackCaps fetching six.

Previously, India and Pakistan during the Asia Cup in 2016 were involved in such an encounter which was held in Bangladesh while recently, Pakistan versus the Netherlands at Perth in the T20 World Cup 2022 game saw no six too during the entire course of the match.

This game ensured that the home side move to the third game as a decider to be played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on 1st February.
