India's ongoing Bangladesh tour started on the wrong note after a narrow one-wicket defeat at the hands of the hosts in the first One-Day International (ODI) last evening, thanks to an incredible knock from Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

To add to Team India's misery, the International Cricket Council (ICC) have fined India 80 percent of their match fee for maintaining a slow-over rate at Mirpur. The Indian team while bowling in the second half of the day, was found short of four overs by ICC match referee Ranjan Madugalle.

As per Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, members of the playing XI were also deducted 20 percent of their match fee for every over short.

In a statement released by ICC, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has accepted the charge levelled by on-field umpires Michael Gough and Tanvir Ahmed, third umpire Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid and fourth umpire Gazi Sohel.

India will look to level the three-match series, when both teams clash on Wednesday in the second ODI.
