India's 2007 and 2011 World Cup-winning superstar Gautam Gambhir has opened up on the argument between Indian and overseas coaches in the national setup. According to the two-time IPL champion who was present during FICCI Turf 2022 event, a domestic coach is way better than having someone who is not from your country.

He mentioned the reason behind it stating that emotions play a key role in heading the Indian coaching setup as foreigners are here to earn money rather than working passionately.

The 41-year-old was quite critical of the external management who only work on corporate basis instead of understanding the deeper objective.

"An Indian coach needs to coach the Indian team. So there are emotions involved. Foreigners just come in and earn money. They don't care. There are no emotions involved."

Gambhir was a crucial member of the Indian side during their successful campaigns in 2007 and 2011, where he rescued his team several times. Playing 58 Tests, 147 ODIs and 37 T20Is for Men in Blue, the Delhi-born amassed over 10,000 runs in international cricket over a span of 13 years.
