Stylish Indian opener Smriti Mandhana finished things off in style against Sri Lanka Women as she smashed a six over wide long-on to not only rack up another 50+ score in T20Is but also seal a 7th Asia Cup title for the Women in Blue.

Smriti brought up her 18th 50+ score in T20Is in stunning fashion, and by doing that, the southpaw added yet another feather to her already glorious cap.

The Indian run-machine brought up her 50 in just 25 deliveries with the help of 6 pristine fours and 3 glorious six, breaking her skipper Harmanpreet Kaur's record of having the highest strike-rate by an Indian after scoring 50+.

Smriti's strike-rate during her unbeaten 25-ball 51 was a staggering 204. Kaur's magnificent 100 against New Zealand during the 2018 T20 World Cup came at a strike-rate of 201.96.

This also happens to be Smriti's fastest 50+ score of her T20I career. Her previous best was 190.62, when the Sangli cricketer scored a Silver Medal-winning 32-ball 61 against England Women at the CWG 2022 semi-final in Birmingham earlier this year.

Smriti Mandhana's storm was preceded by Renuka Singh's seam-bowling masterclass

But, the hero of the day was the ever-so impressive Indian bowling attack-led by right-arm seamer Renuka Singh Thakur.

In an inspired spell of seam bowling, Renuka (⅕ in 3) broke the back of Lanka's top-order as she dismissed Harshitha Madavi and Hasini Perera in successive deliveries before the unfortunate run-outs of Chamari Athapaththu and Anushka Sanjeevani.

Sri Lanka never really recovered from Renuka's spell from hell as the spin duo of Sneh Rana (2/13 in 4) and Rajeshwari Gayakwad (2/16 in 4) stiffled them to 65/9 in 20.

The target of 66 was easily gunned down thanks to Smriti's onslaught.
