Former cricketer Clea Smith joins Cricket Australia as an independent director

Cricket Australia (CA) have announced the appointment of former Australian women's cricketer Clea Smith as an independent director. Smith, 43, was part of Australia's World Cup-winning campaign in 2003.

She represented Australia between 2000 and 2012, having played one Test, 48 ODIs, and 13 T20Is grabbing 60 wickets overall.  The pace bowler played all her domestic cricket for Victoria, winning a total of five national championships with them.

She played 165 First-Class, 117 List-A and 37 T20s for Victoria. 

Smith has worked with the Australian Cricketers’ Association (ACA) in several capacities like General Manager of Member Programs, General Manager Past Players and Strategic Projects, and National Manager Past Player Program.  

The Melbourne-born holds a degree in Science: Sport Coaching and Administration as well.

She is also a lifetime member of Essendon Maribyrnong Park Ladies Cricket Club.
