Melbourne Stars have signed their final foreign international for the upcoming season of the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) 2022 in Lauren Winfield-Hill.

England's wicketkeeper batter, Winfield-Hill, has previously played for clubs like the Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, and Adelaide Strikers in the WBBL.

In 41 WBBL games, she has scored 475 runs, while for England Women she has amassed 552 runs from 40 WT20Is.

Apart from Winfield-Hill, Stars have her England teammate Alice Capsey and India's Jemimah Rodrigues as their overseas players.

Here's what Winfield-Hill stated

"I’m really looking forward to joining up with the Stars, meeting the girls, the staff and the fans. I feel like I’m in a good space with my game at the moment and in some decent form so let’s hope that continues with the Stars. The WBBL is a great competition and I’m chuffed to be a part of it again."

Star's GM Blair Crouch welcomed the batter

"Lauren is a quality person and quality cricketer and it's great to secure her signature for WBBL|08.  She has been in red hot form in the Hundred and we hope she can continue that run of form when she arrives in Australia."

In the ongoing Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy 2022, Winfield-Hill is leading the batting charts with 405 runs for Northern Diamonds, who will play the final on Sunday.

The 32-year-old was the second highest run scorer for Oval Invincibles in their title-winning campaign in The Hundred 2022 Women. She was part of the Northern Superchargers in the inaugural 100-ball tournament last year.
