The second edition of the Road Safety World Series (RSWS) is all set to get underway on Saturday, September 10th and will be played till October 1st. 

The much-hyped curtain-raiser of the tournament will see the defending champions India Legends taking on South Africa Legends at Green Park Stadium, Kanpur. 

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar will continue to marshal the star-studded India Legends team. They have roped in star batter Suresh Raina, who recently announced retirement from all forms of cricket.

However, they will miss the services of their star opener Virender Sehwag in the team. Barring that, the team has a strong core, with the onus being on the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, and Harbhajan Singh to deliver the goods yet again.

South Africa Legends, on the other hand, will be heading into the second season with Jonty Rhodes at the helm. Failing to make it to the final by inches last year, they will aim to spark a turnaround this season. 

Key Players 

• Sachin Tendulkar: The batting great finished the last season as the 3rd leading run-scorer. He had accumulated 233 runs from seven matches at an average of 38.83. 
• Irfan Pathan: The prolific all-rounder had a remarkable tournament in the inaugural edition where he picked up seven wickets in as many matches while with the bat he had contributed 126 runs in 3 innings and remained unbeaten on all the occasions. 
• Yuvraj Singh: The Punjab-born had an average season in the first edition where he ended up scoring 194 runs at an average of 64.66 and picked up four wickets at an economy of 7.11.
• Morne van Wyk: He was the leading run-scorer for South Africa in the last edition of the tournament, amassing 228 runs from six innings at an average of 45.60 and strike rate of 117.52.

Pitch Report 

Considering the format, the wicket looks a bit balanced at Kanpur. The spinners are expected to get good assistance from this surface. The average first-inning score here has been around 160 runs. Also, since the majority of the games have been won by the chasing side, the team winning the toss will look to bowl first.
