Sydney Sixers have announced the signing of teenager Angelina Genford for the upcoming season of the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL). Genford made his WBBL debut last season for the Hobart Hurricanes, playing just one game against the Adelaide Strikers.

The 19-year-old was out for dinner with her mates in Darwin when she was informed about being approached by Sixers List Manager and former Australian legend Lisa Sthalekar.

"It really came out of the blue. I didn’t have a WBBL contract so the call came at a good time. I’m pretty excited. The Sixers are such a well-known club with some big names that I am really looking forward to playing with."
