T20 WC 2022: Conway believes WI tour will be ideal preparatory series

New Zealand and Chennai Super Kings top order batter Devon Conway reckons that the T20I series against the West Indies will be a great opportunity for his team to try different combinations for the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

New Zealand are currently playing a three-match T20I series against the West Indies. This is also the first time since the World Cup last year that New Zealand are fielding their full-strength side after testing their bench strength in the previous series.

Conway marked his first appearance in T20Is since last year's T20 World Cup in the UAE by making 43 off 29 balls in the first T20I at Sabina Park, where he looked extremely dangerous.

"This is a great opportunity to try different combinations. It's nice that everyone is back though. It will obviously provide good opportunities for guys to experience different roles. Whatever they may be in the future of this series, we don't know, but it's exciting for us to just try different combinations and work through different roles," said Devon Conway after New Zealand's win in the first T20I.

The southpaw has been in great form in the shortest version of the game. He made 173 runs in seven innings for CSK in IPL 2022, including three consecutive fifties.
