NED vs NZ, 2nd T20I: Match Analysis, Pitch Report, Key Players, Dream11

New Zealand's [NZ] three-month-long sojourn of the European nations will finally end on Friday when they take on the Netherlands [NED] in the 2nd and final T20I at Sportpark Westvliet, The Hague.

The BlackCaps, on Thursday, rode on brilliant knocks from opener Martin Guptill (45 off 36) and enterprising cameos from James Neesham (32 off 17) and Ish Sodhi (19 off 10) to post 148/7 on a two-paced surface.

As it turned out, they defended the target with ease, thanks to a brilliant opening burst from Blair Tickner (4/27 in 3.3) and the subsequent mopping of the tail from Ben Sears, who claimed 3/22 in 4 overs.

Ticker, in particular, proved to be too hot to handle for NED batters as he knocked over both openers- Stephan Myburgh (5 off 6) & Max O'Dowd (2 off 7)- and Tom Cooper for a 5-ball 2 to leave the Netherlands reeling at 15/3 after 4 overs.

While the Netherlands, especially their spinners-led by Shariz Ahmed (2/15 in 3 overs), were quite decent with the ball, their batters- barring Bas de Leede (66 off 53) & Scott Edwards (20 off 16)- led them down massively.

This is something the hosts will look to improve on as they seek a series equalizer. As for New Zealand, while a 2-0 scoreline will be their first objective, they’ll hope that their batters, especially the middle-order- put up a better show than they did on Thursday.

Pitch Report:

The pitch in the first game was slightly on the slower side and it only got tougher to bat as the match progressed. Keeping that in mind, both sides will look to bat first and choke the opposition under scoreboard pressure later.
