After almost six months of anticipation and tension building, Pakistan Cricket Board are under tremendous pressure as their dream to host Asia Cup 2023 at their home is riding on a thin piece of thread.

As per previous intimations, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) mentioned that they were looking to shift the entire event out of Pakistan as India's participation would be unlikely in that case.

After this, former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja launched a scattering attack on the council calling them out for favouring India.

However, now the current chief of PCB Najam Sethi opened up in a recent press conference where he mentioned that they have managed to convince the ACC for holding a meeting with them that they would be happening on 4th February in Bahrain.

Sethi further added that they are going to discuss with ICC too somewhere in March as they aim to solidify their relations with India.

"It is a major development that the ACC and the board will meet on 4th February in Bahrain and matters relating to the Asia Cup will be discussed.

"There will also be a ICC meeting in March and I don't want to go public with what negotiations I had with ACC members in Dubai or what I plan to do, argue or discuss at the coming meetings. But yes definitely India and Pakistan cricket relations are important,"

Moreover, he remarked that the Asia Cup holds some significance for them as they have Champions Trophy lined up in 2025.

"Hosting the Asia Cup this year is very important and India sending its team is a big issue because it will obviously have repercussions on the Champions Trophy being held in Pakistan in 2025."

Earlier today, Sethi announced Haroon Rasheed as the new chief selector of the side.
