As per emerging reports, Pakistan will play a three-match T20I series against Afghanistan after the conclusion of the eighth season of Pakistan Super League. If sources are to be believed, all three matches will be played in Sharjah.

However, the series is subjected to government approval and hence will take place only if the ruling parties of both countries allow their respective teams to participate in the series.

Recently, in a shocking turn of events, Australia pulled out of the ODI series against Afghanistan scheduled in the United Arab Emirates.

Later, Cricket Australia justified its decision, citing it as a protestive move for the Taliban government's recently implemented laws reflecting their regressive mindset for the women of the country.

On the other hand, prominent Afghanistan players and leaders slammed the Australian board for their move backed by a different political ideology.

So, in such a scenario, Pakistan's interest to help Afghanistan overcome this critical phase comes as a breathe of fresh air for the war-torn nation.

However, both countries don't share a great on-field relationship. Whenever they meet on the cricket field, heated arguments takes place between the players as well as fans.

So, if this series happens, it might make the Afghans feel indebted for their Pakistani counterparts, sowing the seeds of friendship between the two cricketing nations.
