The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the Women's player of the Month nominees for December 2022, including Australia's Ashleigh Gardner, New Zealand's Suzie Bates and England's Charlie Dean.

Ashleigh Gardner had a terrific 2022 and wrapped up her year with an impressive outing in the T20I series in India. She managed 115 runs and seven wickets across five matches to end the year as the ICC's No.1 ranked Women's T20I all-rounder.

One of England's brightest talents, Charlie Dean ruled in the Caribbean against the hosts West Indies. Dean, 22, claimed 18 wickets during England's white-ball tour, consisting of three ODIs and five T20Is.

Her breakthrough performance came in the T20Is, where she played four matches and claimed 11 scalps.

Meanwhile, former White-Ferns skipper Bates continued to rule the batting charts against Bangladesh across the ODI and T20I series. The 33-year-old scored 70 runs in the 20-overs leg but stamped her authority in the 50-over format, amassing 153 runs.

Gardner is the front-runner, given that her performance came against India in their backyard with both bat and ball.
