West Indies' Jayden Seales ruled out for four months following knee surgery

West Indies fast bowler Jayden Seales will be out of commission for at least four months following surgery to correct his left knee. Seales recently returned to the Caribbean after missing the second Test against Australia in Adelaide last month.

According to Trinidad and Tobago Newsday, Red Force coach David Furlonge confirmed that the 21-year-old pacer will not be available for selection until April 2023. 

This will see Seales miss out on the Windies' all-format tour of South Africa in March, which will see both sides clash in two Tests, three One-Day Internationals, and as many T20Is. 

Here's what Furlonge said

“Jayden is injured right now and is probably out of cricket for about four months. He has a knee injury and had surgery. In four months, he should be able to come back and play. He has started rehab already,"

Seales made his Test debut at the tender age of 19, against South Africa last year. In his second-only red-ball series, the right-arm bowler became the youngest West Indies player to register a five-for in Tests. 

Overall, the Trinidad & Tobago player has represented the Men in Maroon in 10 Tests and seven ODIs.
