Lanka Premier League 2022: All you need to know

The third edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) will mark its arrival on December 6 with the clash scheduled between Jaffna Kings and Galle Gladiators and will be staged till December 23, the date of the final.

A league-styled competition and Sri Lanka's grandest T20 tournament, LPL, will see five teams - Colombo Stars, Dambulla Giants, Galle Gladiators, Jaffna Kings, and Kandy Falcons - battle it out for the all-important trophy. 

At the end of the league round which consists of 20 fixtures, one team will bow out, while the remaining four will enter the playoffs, comprising four games including the final.

The games will be played at three venues - Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium, Hambantota, Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele and R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

Jaffna Kings will enter the tournament as the defending champions.

Sony Sports Network has bagged the television and digital rights of the tournament in India.
