The T20 World Cup is a perfect stage for a player to showcase his talent to the world, and Pakistan's Mohammad Haris has cashed in on his opportunity. Haris, who replaced the injured Fakhar Zaman, gained swift recognition by smashing the likes of Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje during his quick-fire 11-ball 28 against South Africa.

The right-handed batter displayed his devastating best, scoring 31 off 18 balls against Bangladesh in a low-scoring chase, helping Pakistan secure a spot in the semi-finals of the marquee event.

Team mentor Matthew Hayden has lauded the newcomer's work ethic for his phenomenal run so far. According to IndiaToday, the former Australia opener revealed Haris's routine in the nets, which has brought in a breathe of fresh air within the group.

"Yeah, it’s all him. I’ve watched him closely over the last month. And he was the one individual that came into every net session and faced all of our quicks. I mean for me, that was like facing McGrath, Warne, Lee, and Gillespie.

If you could face those bowlers and you’re playing well, you knew that you had a great chance of making runs in the actual game. So, it’s no surprise to see Harry come in and play so, beautifully."

Haris will next be seen in action against New Zealand in the all-important knockout match tomorrow at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
