India Women steamrolled Thailand Women by 74 runs in the first semifinal of the ongoing Asia Cup to storm their way into the final. After posting a respectable total of 148 on a difficult Sylhet pitch, the Women in Blue defended the total in style, courtesy of a spectacular three-fer from Deepti Sharma.

Following India's stunning victory, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur lavished praise on the batting unit for putting up a defendable total on a tricky surface. She also lauded Deepti Sharma for her magnificent bowling spell and urged her troops to replicate a similar performance in the final.

Here's how Harmanpreet reacted after India's clinical victory

"We batted really well. We had to work hard to get to that total while batting first. Jemi and Shafali also played well. Deepti is ready to bowl in any situation and is good to have her on our side. Whenever you are getting 150 on the board on every day of the competition, you are doing good. We will look to repeat our performance in the final."

Opener Shafali Verma was India's best performer with the bat, as she hammered her way through to a majestic 28-ball 42. She struck five fours and one six on a surface where her teammates struggled to accelerate.

After being declared the 'player of the match', Verma revealed that she enjoyed batting on the Sylhet deck and looked determined to contribute to the team's success in the final.

Here's what Shafali stated

"Lots of confidence going into the final. The pitch is good for batting and love batting here. Smriti did well and Jemi also stepped up. We looked to build partnerships in the middle. Hope the weather stays good and we have a full game in the final. I’m confident about my game and try to work on my weaknesses. Will look to contribute to the team’s success."
