IND vs SA: Rilee Rossouw reflects on his knock against India

Rilee Rossouw finally broke free to justify the expectations, as he hit a sensational 100* off 48 balls in the final game of the T20I series against India on Tuesday at Indore.

Earlier this year, Rossouw made his international comeback after nearly six years. In early 2017, he left South African cricket for a Kolpak Deal in England. He then plied his trade for Hampshire and Somerset in English domestic cricket.

The T20 Blast 2022 witnessed him slamming 623 runs in 16 innings for Somerset, which forced the selectors to recall him ahead of the World Cup. In his only second knock, the 32-year-old returned with a knock of 96* off 55 balls against England, which cemented his place in the side.

However, things weren't going well in the India series, as he was dismissed for successive ducks in the first two games of the series. However, the southpaw got confidence by churning out boundaries off his pads in the early part of the innings and then wreaked havoc to help Proteas post 227 on the board.

In response, the Indian team were dismissed on 179 and lost by 49 runs. Rightfully, Rossouw was named Player of the Match.

"India are a world class side, I would say, it (the knock) was special,

"It is something that you dream of as a cricketer, to score a hundred in front of a packed crowd and I am glad I could contribute for the winning side tonight."

In this regard, he thinks the knock was indeed special due to the strong opposition like India and a jam-packed crowd.
