The BCCI has announced that the 18th season of the IPL will resume from May 17 after being temporarily stopped due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan. The tournament, which was paused midway, will now wrap up with the final on June 3. The revised schedule, released on Monday, includes 17 remaining matches, one of which is the clash between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC).
The first match of the updated schedule is between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), set to take place on Saturday, May 17, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
RCB vs KKR: Ticket and Refund Update
When IPL 2025 was initially halted, RCB announced that ticket refunds would be given for their remaining two home games against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and KKR. However, with the tournament resuming as planned, RCB has now issued a new statement about the tickets for the match against KKR.
Since the venue, date, and timing of the RCB vs KKR game remain unchanged, the tickets that fans purchased earlier are still valid. Therefore, there will be no refunds for this game. RCB posted on X (formerly Twitter):
"RCB vs KKR Ticket Validity Related Information. As there is no change in date and time for #RCBvKKR, original tickets purchased will stay valid for the revised schedule as well, and no refunds will be processed."
IPL 2025 Points Table Update
Before the suspension, Gujarat Titans (GT) were leading the points table with 16 points from 11 matches. RCB also had 16 points but was slightly behind GT due to a lower net run rate. The next three teams in the race were Punjab Kings (15 points), Mumbai Indians (14 points), and Delhi Capitals (13 points).
GT, RCB, and PBKS only needed one more win to secure their spots in the playoffs. Meanwhile, MI and DC had to win at least two of their remaining matches to make it.
KKR (KKR), the defending champions, were struggling at sixth place with 11 points and were on the brink of elimination. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) still had a faint hope of qualifying, needing to win all their remaining games to reach the playoffs.
On the other hand,SRH , Rajasthan Royals (RR), and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were already out of the playoff race.
