Lancashire will clash against Kent in the final of the Royal London Cup 2022 on Saturday (Sept 17) at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. Lancashire qualified second from Group B with five wins, two losses, and one no-result, pocketing 11 points.

Captained by Keaton Jennings, the Red Rose won their semi-finals clash against Sussex by a massive margin of 65 runs. Lancashire County Cricket Club (LCCC) confirmed that Jennings will continue to lead the side in the final, despite club skipper Dane Vilas returning from an injury.

Jennings (318), the second-highest-run scorer for the club this season in the competition behind Luke Wells (339), called this chance a highlight of his career.

“I’ve absolutely loved it. It’s been an amazing group to be a part of and captain, and we’re now in that pressure pot of playing in a final. We’re all looking forward to it. To walk out representing Lancashire as a captain will be absolutely amazing.

To go out and represent a county which has such a rich history and tradition is a massive honour for me, and I’m really looking forward to it.”

Out of favour England Test opener also lauded Kent's Darren Stevens for his career, which has lasted for 25 years.
