Rabada set to miss Ireland T20Is due to ankle injury

South Africa have suffered a massive blow ahead of the T20I series against Ireland as the experienced pacer Kagiso Rabada has been ruled out of the series owing to an ankle injury.

The details regarding the severity of his injury are yet to come. However, the fast bowler needs to regain full fitness within two weeks to participate in the three-match Test series against England.

Despite being a tremendous T20 bowler, Rabada has performed abysmally in the shortest format in recent times. In the six T20Is he has played after the T20 World Cup 2021, the right-arm fast bowler has picked just three wickets at a poor strike rate of 40.

This unfortunate injury has definitely jolted the Proteas' preparations for the World Cup, as they would have liked their spearhead to find his rhythm with the World Cup around the corner.
