The right-arm leg spinner is currently playing for France at the highest level. He got the opportunity to play for the European country on the back of his impressive performances for the local club teams.

“When I realized that our rights are violated; I became upset and decided to leave the country and go to Europe," Dawood Ahmadzai told Pajhwok Afghan News.

According to the news channel, the ACB blocked his way to the national team, which made the cricketer quit cricket in Afghanistan and move to Europe to represent France.

The leg-spinner was asked if he will be interested in representing Afghanistan again in the international arena, and he responded by saying that it will be an honour to play for the national side.

“This (Afghanistan) is my homeland, and it will be a big honor to play for the national team”.
