On Tuesday, Bangladesh scripted history, as they defeated Pakistan in the second Test at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Chasing 185, the Tigers breached the finish line in the 56th over of their second innings, with legendary all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan scoring the winning runs.

Pakistan captain Shan Masood was heartbroken following his side's second consecutive defeat in the series. In the post-match presentation, Masood expressed his disappointment at the hosts' dismal show with bat and ball.

After Agha Salman's valiant half-century propelled them to 274 in the first innings, Pakistan had an outstanding start with the ball, scalping six wickets for just 26 runs. However, a magnificent century from Litton Das ensured the Tigers' comeback, as they eventually capitalised on it to bag the series.

Masood, who had a forgettable series with the bat, reckoned Pakistan should've wrapped up things quickly instead of allowing Bangladesh to make a comeback. The skipper also stated that someone from the home side should've capitalised on the start and played a significant knock like Litton Das.

"Extremely disappointed when you start the home season like this. The story has been the same as Australia. We have learned our lessons. We need to work on finishing games. In both games where we could have bowled them out especially in this game when we let them back in the game from 26/6," Masood said.

"When we lost the first day to bad weather. 274 was a really good fight. There were 30s and 40s and there were partnerships as well but we didn't convert in a big score as Litton Das. We needed one wicket back then but we couldn't. We need to learn as it is a big Test season for Pakistan," he added.

Shan Masood's performance let Pakistan down in Bangladesh Tests

While Babar Azam received massive backlash for his dismal performance, Shan Masood went under the radar despite his poor outings in the series. The southpaw managed only 105 runs at an average of 26.25, letting his team down in the high-voltage series.
