Bangladesh beat Pakistan 2-0 in the two-game Test series held at Rawalpindi, and pacer Hasan Mahmud, who took a fifer on Day 4 of the second Test, credited Bangladesh's bowling unit for collective efforts throughout the tour.

Bangladesh cricket team, reeling under political instability and natural calamities back home, rose through the ashes to knock down Pakistan at the latter's home turf. With a 185-run successful chase on day 5 of the second Test, the Tigers whitewashed Pakistan to record a historic triumph.

While Litton Das was awarded the man-of-the-match trophy for his 138-run knock to revive his team from 26/6, Hasan Mahmud believes bowlers also deserve applause for their commendable effort.

Mahmud himself claimed his career maiden fifer, which toppled Pakistan to 172 runs in the third inning.

Hasan Mahmud was proud of his team's dedication, hard work and intent against a quality opposition. As a fast bowler, Mahmud added that their plan was to fetch wickets and not put a stoppage on the run rate. He said:

"This is a fantastic effort from the boys. Their hard work, dedication throughout this tournament was absolutely fantastic. The fast bowlers looked for wickets and put the effort behind the ball."

Bangladesh fast bowlers worked together to execute their plans as red-ball cricket demands discipline. When pacers and spinners combine their efforts, results are bound to follow, said Mahmud. He added:

"You have to take advantage from fast bowlers and to keep working together hard especially in red ball cricket. Its important for the fast bowlers and spinners to combine their effort."

Hasan Mahmud Mocked Pakistan With Bold Claim On Day 4

With Bangladesh batting at 42/0 in a 185-run chase, play was stopped due to bad lighting and light rain on Day 4.

The third session was eventually called off, and Hasan Mahmud of Bangladesh made a bold claim in a media interview.

He revealed that if not for the rain delay, his team wanted to finish the chase on Day 4 itself. The statement was a clear dig towards Pakistan as Mahmud downplayed the hosts' ability to bounce back and compete.
