Bangladesh sprung a surprise as they thrashed Pakistan in the second Test match in Rawalpindi to seal the series 2-0.

Before this series, the Tigers had never defeated Pakistan in a Test match, but that all changed in the span of few days as they won the first match in Rawalpindi by 10-wickets, and then came back to haunt the home side once again with a resounding 6-wicket win in the second Test.

Litton, Mehidy's partnership sealed the historic win for Bangladesh

The second Test match had many heroes, but none bigger than Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz. In the first innings, Bangladesh were tottering at 26/6, when the duo of Mehidy and Litton joined hands and resurrected the team out of a precarious situation.

While Mehidy scored a gritty 78 off 124 deliveries, the spotlight was hogged by Litton, who slammed a scintillating 138 and nullified the Pakistan bowling attack with ease.

Eventually, the Tigers needed 185 to seal a historic series win, which they achieved with relative ease, winning the game comfortably and making sure that Pakistan crash out of the WTC finale race.

After the game, Litton gave credit to Mehidy Hasan, and stated that Mehidy brought a fresh energy when he came out to bat.

"Just believed in myself. Pakistan bowled really well in that half. Me and Miraz discussed to bat long. He hit few boundaries and shifted the momentum. After lunch it got easier to bat.

When Hasan came, I didn't had any scoring opportunities so I took time and played as many overs I could. That was the key for me. Credit goes to Hasan as well," Litton Das stated.

Pakistan out of WTC finale race

With this loss, Pakistan are officially out of the WTC finale race, After the loss in the first Test match, they had to win all the remaining matches, but another loss has ensured that the team has crashed out in an embarrassing manner.

The Pakistan batters just didn't put enough runs on the board and the bowlers, despite picking up 6 wickets for 20 runs in the first innings, allowed the game to slip from their grasp.
