The second ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2023 is upon us and will see two cricketing giants India and Australia face off against each other on June 7 at The Oval in London. While this is Australia's maiden emergence in the WTC Final, India are making their second consecutive appearance.

Led by former captain Virat Kohli, India played against New Zealand in WTC Final 2021, losing the one-off Test by eight wickets. Kohli's successor Rohit Sharma ensured that Team India carries forward its rich Test legacy and qualifies for the marquee event for the second time.

Across both WTC cycles (2019-21, and 2021-23) Indian batters have enjoyed their time in the middle, stockpiling runs regardless of opposition, surface, or situation.

In this list, we break down Indian batters with the most hundreds combined from both WTC 2019-21 and 2021-23 cycles.

Rohit Sharma (6)

Current India captain Rohit Sharma has been phenomenal in both cycles, having shown his class in home and away conditions. Sharma in 12 Tests in WTC 2019-21 cycle scored 1,094 runs with four centuries, while in WTC 2021-23 cycle, the skipper's form took a slight dip, as he amassed 700 runs with only two centuries.

Mayank Agarwal (4)

India's premier opener for a few years, Mayank Agarwal has had relative success for the Test side in the first WTC cycle accumulating 857 runs in 12 Tests, which included three tons. Agarwal could not maintain his form and struggled in overseas conditions in the second WTC cycle scoring 436 runs in seven matches with just one hundred, which became his downfall.

Ajinkya Rahane (3)

Making a comeback into the Indian Test side, former skipper Ajinkya Rahane had a breathtaking WTC 2019-21 cycle, where he slammed 1,159 runs (most for India) accompanied by three tons. However, Rahane could not rekindle his run-making form in the WTC 2021-23 cycle and found himself dropped.

Rahane will be eager to do well and make his IPL form count in WTC Final 2023 against Australia.

Virat Kohli (3)

Daddy hundreds might have evaded Kohli, but the star batter was always amongst the runs. Despite a lean patch, the former India skipper scored two centuries in the first WTC cycle, ending with 934 runs. Kohli ended his three-year drought and scored his only ton in the WTC 2021-23 cycle against Australia in March this year.

Rishabh Pant (3)

India's newest sensation, Rishabh Pant took Test cricket by storm. Pant's outing in WTC 2019-21 cycle was admirable as the maverick scored 707 runs from 12 Tests, with one century and four fifties. However, Pant's second WTC cycle produced even better results, where the wicketkeeper-batter scored 868 runs with two centuries and five half-centuries

If the 25-year-old's scores of 97,96 and 93 were converted into 100s, Pant would have had six tons.

Multiple batters like Ravindra Jadeja, Shubman Gill, and KL Rahul managed two centuries each in the WTC  2021-23 cycle.
