Indian cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar shared a heartfelt message for his mother Rajni Tendulkar on social media on the occasion of ‘Mother’s Day’ on Sunday, May 11. Taking to X, the former cricketer also took this time to wish “all the incredible mothers” in the world on the occasion.

Tendulkar also shared a picture of his close relatives, all while wearing a Mumbai Indians franchise jersey. A beloved personality across the country as well as beyond the border, the cricketer’s tweet instantly went viral on social media.

Sachin Tendulkar celebrates Mother’s Day

On Sunday, May 11, Sachin Tendulkar took to X to celebrate the occasion of Mother’s Day. Sharing a picture of his close relatives, including his mother Rajni Tendulkar, the former Indian cricketer also shared a heartfelt message.

Tendulkar credited his mother for all his success, and described her as the “anchor” of his life. The 52-year-old also wished a “Happy Mother’s Day” to “all the incredible mothers” in the world.


Sachin Tendulkar’s parents have played a significant role in his journey to cricketing greatness. The iconic cricketer has often credited his mother Rajni Tendulkar, describing her a source of immense strength throughout his career.

The influence of his father Ramesh Tendulkar, has also been a constant theme in his public speeches and interviews, showcasing their vital role in shaping his success both on and off the field. His father, however, passed away when Sachin was in England during the 1999 ODI Men’s Cricket World Cup.

Tendulkar announced his retirement from the game in late-2013, i.e., just a couple of years after lifting the 2011 World Cup at home.
