BCCI Officials Meet IPL Governing Council Members

Now, a report from Hindustan Times has stated that the final is likely to be moved from Kolkata to Ahmedabad. The IPL Governing Council members and BCCI officials had a meeting on Sunday, May 11 and there are chances that the final schedule will be announced soon. The report mentions that the tournament will be played in four venues, and no more matches will be played in Delhi and Dharamsala.

The Qualifier 1 and Eliminator is also likely to be played at the same venue, Hyderabad. However, due to a gap of one week, the final is likely to be played on June 1 instead of May 25. The venue of the final was Kolkata, but with rain forecasted in the capital of West Bengal on June 1, the finale might be shifted to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

"As of now there is no decision on IPL. BCCI officials are working out on the solutions. BCCI secretary, IPL Chairman are in talks with franchises and everyone, so very soon we will know about the decision, efforts are being made to resume the tournament early,"  Rajiv Shukla , the BCCI President.

"In the next few days, we will begin consultations with the franchises, broadcasters, sponsors and the state associations slated to host the remaining matches before crystallizating to a decision on the league's resumption. Given that the importance of IPL at this juncture, it will also be prudent and necessary to take the nod of the Government of India before finalising the time for its restart," BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia to PTI.

The report also suggests that Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals are likely to get one point each from their disrupted game in Dharamsala on May 8.
