Australian Spinner Peter Hatzoglou Shares Cryptic Tweet After Being Pelted With Eggs

On Friday, promising Australian spinner Peter Hatzoglou shared his harrowing experience after being mistreated by some locals in the United Kingdom. Notably, Hatzoglou, who recently signed a short-term deal with the English County Club Glamorgan, was greeted with eggs by some English fans in Cardiff. Following the incident, the young leg-spinner took to his official Twitter handle to share a cryptic tweet, which read:
"Egged! Must be how they welcome new players in Cardiff."
This behaviour of the locals wasn't appreciated by many sensible English fans, who apologised to the Australian cricketer, wishing him luck for the English summer in the comment section.
Regarded as a wily customer with the ball, Hatzoglou was recently roped in by Glamorgan to represent them in the ongoing T20 Blast competition.
The leg-spinner from Western Australia replaced the Queensland seamer Michael Neser, who was called up to the national training camp. Although Hatzoglou inked the deal for only three games, he could extend his stay if Neser remains unavailable.
He played his first game of the season against Kent, playing a significant role in Glamorgan's clinical win with impressive bowling figures of two for 25.
Hatzoglou was an integral member of Perth Scorchers, who lifted the BBL 12 trophy earlier this year. In 40 T20 appearances, the crafty bowler has scalped 44 wickets at an economy of 7.70.
Talking about Glamorgan, the Kiran Carlson-led outfit is placed third in the South Group points table with three victories in four matches. Up next, they will take on Sussex in the 47th fixture of the tournament on Sunday in Hove.
