Pakistan all-rounder, Shadab Khan got into a 'nasty collision' on his T20 Blast debut for Sussex. He had a horrible collision with his teammate, Nathan McAndrew during the game against Somerset and the all-rounder had to be taken off the field as a precautionary measure.

The incident occurred in the second innings of the match, in the 7th over of Ravi Bopara. Bopara delivered a length ball outside the off as the batter, Cadmore miscued it in the air. Shadab, standing at mid off ran back and had his eyes on the ball, but he didn't realise that McAndrew was charging in from long-off to grab the ball as well.

Both the players had their eyes on the ball when they collided against each other. Shadab struggled to get on his feet and the game was halted for several minutes. While McAndrew continued and finished the match, Shadab, who was still struggling was taken off the field by the medical team.

Amidst the seriousness of the injury, Sussex head coach, Paul Farbrace confirmed that Shadab is doing fine and the medical team is monitoring him.

“Shadab is alright. He has a bit of a sore neck. The doctor felt that it was best to take him out of the game, nervous of obviously concussion. They both are alright, that’s the most important thing,” said Farbrace.

Talking about the match, Sussex failed to deliver in the match and eventually lost by 5-wickets.
