Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday played cricket with displaced residents at a relief camp in Samba, offering a moment of respite to families affected by relentless Pakistani shelling along the Line of Control (LoC).
The National Conference leader toured multiple relief camps and hospitals in Jammu and Samba districts, interacting with families displaced by recent cross-border strikes.
From Chaos To Cricket! CM Abdullah Plays Cricket
Videos shared widely on social media via ANI showed Mr. Abdullah batting and bowling with a young boy at the camp, drawing cheers from onlookers. He spectated the young boy watching and later played a shot off the delivery from the young boy.

Omar Strongly Condemns The Attack
Notably, the CM's visit came a day after he strongly condemned Pakistan’s escalated drone, missile, and artillery attacks targeting civilian and military areas in Jammu and Poonch.
"We did not create this situation. Our people were attacked in Pahalgam, and innocent civilians were killed. We had to respond," Mr. Abdullah said, referencing India’s retaliatory strikes on terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people.
Meanwhile, sirens blared and blackouts were enforced in border towns across Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat late Thursday night as Pakistan launched drone and munition attacks on military infrastructure. The Indian Army stated the assaults were "effectively repulsed," adding that similar attempts were foiled at 15 locations earlier this week.
Meanwhile, in another development, the IPL has been officially called off by BCCI for at least a week. The rescheduling and venue details will be notified soon after the officials decide on the agendas.
