In a major development , Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday announced full ticket refunds for their scheduled home game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Saturday, May 10. The announcement came in the wake of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 being suspended with immediate effect due to escalating military tensions between India and Pakistan.

Fans To Get Refunds For SRH vs KKR

The suspended fixture was set to take place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. SRH made the refund announcement via their official social media platforms, stating: “In light of the current situation, #TATAIPL2025 has been suspended with immediate effect. Ticket refund details will be communicated shortly.

The move comes after the BCCI confirmed the league's suspension for at least a week. These military developments were triggered by the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of civilians and security personnel.

The incident has significantly escalated regional tensions, leading to swift countermeasures from the Indian government and security forces.

SRH Already Out of Playoff Contention

SRH, led by Australian World Cup-winning captain Pat Cummins, currently sit 8th in the league table with just 7 points from 11 games. Their elimination from the playoff race was confirmed earlier this week, making the now-cancelled home game against KKR a dead rubber in terms of qualification stakes.

Despite their position on the table, the SRH vs KKR fixture was expected to draw a sizeable crowd, as Hyderabad fans looked to bid farewell to their team at home for the season.

Suspension Impacting League Momentum

The suspension also interrupted what had been a tightly contested season. As of the last completed match, Gujarat Titans (GT) topped the points table with 16 points from 11 matches. They were followed by RCB, also on 16 points but with a lower NRR of +0.482. Punjab Kings stood third, having also accumulated 16 points from 12 matches.
