The 18th edition of IPL has been suspended due to the growing tensions between India and Pakistan. As of now, the league has been suspended for just one week, but it could be prolonged even more, and now EspnCricinfo has stated that the players of all the teams are disbanding and they are set to take next available flights out and within India.

On May 8, the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was halted midway due to security issues. The Cricinfo has stated that the players and support staff of that game travelled to Jalandhar from Dharamsala by bus and then went to Delhi via train.

It is not clear exactly on how many overseas players will leave the country on May 9. However, the South African Cricketers' Association chief executive stated that the priority is players' safety and their organisation is in contact with their national players.

"The health and safety of players is not negotiable. We are in direct contact with all the South African players at the IPL and keeping them updated with security reports. We have offered them any support they need," South African Cricketers' Association chief executive Andrew Breetzke said in a statement.

There is also uncertainty over participation of the overseas players if the IPL resumes after a week. The BCCI has stated they would take the decision on the venues and new schedule after assessing the situation and in coordination with all the stakeholders, and there is also possibility of the tournament moving outside India.
