[Watch] Curran Amasses Middlesex Bowler With Five Fours in an Over

England's annual T20 competition has begun in dazzling fashion, with games coming thick and fast in the T20 Blast 2023. The English cricketers have transitioned beautifully from the First Class to the fast-running format, but the battle between willow and leather has been sublime.

On Thursday, in the clash between Surrey and Middlesex at the Lord's, the partnership between the Curran brothers helped the visitors bag their seventh straight victory in the London Derby. Thanks to the 118-run stand between Sam Curran and Tom Curran, Surrey went on to post 199-6, but that wasn't the most enthralling part of the partnership.

In the 12th over of the 1st innings, the senior Curran brother smashed Middlesex's right-arm medium pacer Ryan Higgins for five fours in an over. Tom used the offside strokeplay to brilliance, slamming the pacer in every region ranging from thirdman to extra-cover.

Meanwhile, all of those strokes were fantabulous, but the shots played on the third and fourth delivery on that over were a class apart as the batter played both of them through extra cover - the first one was a front-front drive through the region before punching it down - beating the fielder in the inner-circle on both occasions.

Eventually, Tom has dismissed by Higgins himself at 50, while his younger sibling notched up a 47-ball 68. Later in the evening, Middlesex were bundled out for 126 runs inside 14.5 overs as Surrey bagged an emphatic victory of 73 runs.

On Friday, Surrey will face Kent Spitfires at the Oval, while Middlesex will be at loggerheads with Hampshire Hawks on the same day at Southampton.
